Biography
The skinny kid from Hoboken with the blue eyes phrased a lyric like nobody before or since, he didn't sing songs, he lived them in front of you. From bobby-soxer idol to Oscar-winning actor to the elder statesman of Vegas, Sinatra's career spanned six decades, a thousand recordings, and every human emotion that fits into three minutes with strings.
He did it, famously, his way: feuds and comebacks, generosity and grudges, civil-rights stands decades before they were safe. When he died, the lights of the Las Vegas Strip and the Empire State Building dimmed, the world's way of saying the Voice had gone quiet.
